His 7th St. shop ran from 1960-\u201989 and was a hotspot for the Summer of Love generation and where he tattooed many stars including The Allman Brothers, Joan Baez and Janis Joplin. His Columbus Ave. shop has been running since 1977 and this year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Lyle\u2019s tattoo career. Lyle is the premier authority on Tattoo History and its practices and he\u2019s highly revered by the tattoo community worldwide.
